Welcome to Don Bosco Church
In keeping with the mission of our Father and Founder Don Bosco to be signs and bearers of God’s love to the young:” we, the association of the Past Pupils of Don Bosco, Bangalore Unit and Confreres of Don Bosco Church, Lingarajapuram, who have given us their kind permission and premises, have come forward to conduct the Evening Tuition Classes for Std. VIII to Std. XI all three streams of education i.e., ICSE, STATE AND CBSE for all subjects. The classes are conducted every day (7 days a week) between 5.30 pm to 7.30 pm in the basement hall of the church. What a fulfilling experience it has been till date!
Started in July of 2019, the classes boast of 38 students from the Don Bosco Parish. There are 12 students in Std. X, 12 in Std. IX and 14 in Std. VIII. The girls of course, out do the boys in numbers. The faculty consists of dedicated teachers working honorary. Mrs. Monica Anthony, an educationist and Principal of the New Baldwin’s School, her two enthusiast and dedicated daughters Judith and Joanne handle all subjects of Science, Geography, History etc., Mrs. Kasturi Felix is the Hindi Pandit. Mrs. Stella teaches Kannada, Mr. Jerry Allan and Mr. Preetham, both graduates and members of the English Choir, pool in their valuable knowledge in teaching as well. Mr. Christopher D’Souza, Alumni of Don Bosco Kerala, Mumbai and an outstanding member of the parish teach Maths & Science and is the coordinator between the Salesian Confers and the tuition centre. Mr. Nigel and Alumni of St. Josephs Chennai teach Maths and English and is the coordinator between the Tuition Centre and the Past Pupils Association. No fees are charged. Yes, there would be some notion that if a service is free, appreciation will be less, be part of the centre and you will think otherwise. The centre is run not only with the true Salesian Spirit of Reason, Religion and Loving kindness but a notch higher, the True Salesian Past Pupil Way.
